Construction took place between 1966 and 1972. The architect was Ken Atkin and this cine film was taken by him.

City St George's Day Parade

This cine film was shot in around 1965 and shows Sheffield City Scouts in the St George's Day March Past outside the City Hall.
It is led by the City Band who then stop, facing the Hall, and continue to play. In front of them is the Lord Mayor - taking the Salute.
Scouts, Senior Scouts and Leaders (no Cubs) march past in in their Group, District by District.
The 59th are in there somewhere but are yet to be identified.

Training Film

On first inspection, it was difficult to work out the subject/purpose of this film (again made by Ken Atkin). It finally became apparent that the scenes had been shot in reverse order!
It has been edited to correct this and appears to be a "Training" type film - probably made more for amusement than purpose.

Summer Camp 1964

Summer Camp 1964 was at Greyabbey in Newtownards, Northern Ireland. Both the Troop and the Senior Troop were there. The original film ran for about 29 minutes. The digital version has been significantly edited (sadly scenic shots of the Harland and Wolff shipyard and Liverpool docks were victims of the scissors).

The Archives also contain reels of cine film entitled:
"Seniors Summer Camp 1965 I"
"Seniors Summer Camp 1965 II"
"Summer Camp 1963"
"Summer Camp 1966 - Wales and Cornwall"
Whilst these have been converted to digital format, their content is more scenic than Scouting and their priority for editing etc is low.
