Scout Car Racing
After an abortive attempt in 1977, the Group was active in Scoutcar racing during the period 1982-89,
taking part in the National Scoutcar races and at events in Wolverhampton, Coventry and Stourbridge.
In 1982, the Group entered "LIX I" in the Novice Class in the National Scoutcar Races at Cleethorpes.
In 1983, "Cobra" and "If" were entered in in the Novice Class in the National Races in Brighton.
The weekend was particularly noted for the fact that a hired van broke down, which resulted in significant logistical reorganisation.
1984 saw "If" again entered in the Novice Class in the National Races in Blackpool and
it came 3rd in the Grand Prix.
That same year, "If" was entered in the Coventry Scoutcar Races
In 1985, "If", "When" and "Joint Venture" (a joint venture with 296th Lodge Moor) were entered in Stourbridge and Coventry Scoutcar Races,
with "Joint Venture" and "If" being entered in the National Races in Plymouth.
In 1986, at the Stourbridge Scoutcar Races in the Venture Sprints, "When" won 3rd in the Novice Class and an unidentified car "Wot"(?) was also entered. The same year, "Wot" and "When" were entered in the Wolverhampton Scoutcar Races, Unipart Scoutcar Races at the National Garden Festival and the National Scoutcar Races in Cleethorpes where "Wot" was in the Novice Class and "When" in the Championship Class.
1987 saw the teams enter the Coventry Scoutcar Races where "Wot" and "When" were entered and "When" won 2nd place in the Cub Novice. "When" and "Wot" were entered in the Novice Class at the National Scoutcar Races in Brighton.
In 1988, "When" was entered in the Wolverhampton Races and the Novice Class of National Scoutcar Races at Blackpool where it was 4th in the Scout Novice Class and 2nd in the Grand Prix Novice Class.
The 50th National Scoutcar Races on Plymouth Hoe took place in 1989 and "When" and "Excuse Me" were entered in the Premier Class.
The same year "Wot" raced in the Open Class at Stourbridge.
